Our Journey — From Workshop To Global e-Bike Manufacturer

Since our founding in 2010, we have grown from a small vehicle manufacturing workshop into a globally recognized electric bicycle manufacturer. Every milestone reflects our commitment to engineering quality, product innovation and responsible international trade — building a business that our partners worldwide can rely on for the long term.

Company Founded — Hangzhou, Zhejiang

Zhejiang Baoguilai Vehicle Co., Ltd. was established in Jinhua, Zhejiang in 2010, beginning production of conventional bicycle components and frames for domestic and international markets. This marked the starting point of our journey in the global mobility supply chain. The founding team brought together mechanical engineering expertise and an early understanding of international B2B trade requirements — a combination that would define the company's development direction for the decade ahead.

Electric Bike R&D Investment & Patent Development

Responding to the rapid global growth of electric mobility, we made a strategic shift into electric bicycle design and manufacturing. A dedicated R&D center was established, growing to 50-plus specialist engineers. We entered into a joint R&D partnership with the Industrial Design and Research Institute of Zhejiang University of Technology — an academic collaboration that accelerated our product development capability. Our patent portfolio began to grow significantly during this period, ultimately reaching 120-plus exterior design patents and 80-plus utility model patents. Recognition as a National High-Tech Enterprise and Zhejiang Science and Technology Innovation Enterprise followed, reflecting the depth of our engineering investment.

EU Anti-Dumping Whitelist & Integrated Manufacturing Scale-Up

ZUMIBIKE achieved a landmark breakthrough in international trade compliance by successfully entering the EU anti-dumping whitelist — becoming one of the first Chinese electric bicycle manufacturers to win an EU anti-dumping case. This reduced our applicable bicycle tariff from 48.5% to 19.2% (a reduction of more than 60%), and established the 33.4% applicable rate for electric bicycles — a structural cost advantage that directly benefits our European distribution partners. Simultaneously, production capacity at the Hangzhou facility was significantly expanded, reaching 300,000 units per year across a 200,000 m² integrated manufacturing operation. Overseas warehouses were established in the United States and Europe to support faster local delivery and market testing for international customers.

ZUMIBIKE Brand Global Expansion — 50+ Markets, 3 Overseas Warehouses

The ZUMIBIKE brand now serves electric bike brands, importers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, rental operators and project customers across more than 50 countries — spanning Europe, North America, South America, Australia, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Three overseas warehouses (United States, Europe, Brazil) provide fast local inventory access across three continents. The OEM and ODM program supports private-label development with 7-day technical drawings, 15-day sample completion, and full compliance documentation (CE, EN15194, FCC, UL2849, UL2271) as standard deliverables. ZUMIBIKE's product line covers EU-compliant 250W folding fat tire models through to 1500W off-road configurations and full-suspension Bafang-powered platforms — one of the broadest ranges available from a single factory-direct source in the category.
